Deerfield Community Gives Thanks and Hope

What happens when more than 200 kids converge on a Deerfield football field Thanksgiving morning?
A lot of football, a lot of fun -- and a lot of hope.
Families from more than 200 kids met in a local park Thanksgiving morning to play football and donate bags of holiday gifts, cleaning supplies, hygiene products, clothing and more to support youth and families in need of the Daniel A. Cotter Boys & Girls Club and Catholic Charities.
"For some of our youth, this will be the only holiday gift they receive this year," said Cotter Club Director Jim Pottinger. "We deeply appreciate this tremendous show of service and support for our young people and families during this holiday season."
